Follow Up Is Key
Now that you have settled back into your routine after a wonderful 2012 REALTORS® Conference and Expo, have you had the chance to ask yourself “What is my plan of action for all of the business cards I collected”? With automation this should be a simple process and could have been concluded by the time you made it home. I’m often amazed by how many apps are available in the market place which makes our mobile device a standalone office with an assistant.
From your mobile device you can download a business card reader like CamCard, ScanCard, or Yolu. These apps use the camera of your mobile device to act as a scanner to scan any business cards you collected and then sync the business card with your contacts, Google account, Dropbox, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter with the tap of a finger.
Forget the canned messages that are generated by the different social media sites you want to develop a message that includes where you met the person and ask them to connect with you across the different social media sites you use. Because you have already added the contact to Google, Yahoo!, or Hotmail you can connect any of these email accounts to the different social media sites and your contacts will be scanned to see if any of your stored contacts already use the system and allows you to connect without looking up the person manually. Long gone are the days of a Rolodex and manual input.
